Tangie Matic by Fastbuds - Seed Review

Tangie Matic by Fastbuds - Seed Review

I fell in love with the original Tangie after sampling some of the amazing creations by the artisans at Gold Leaf Gardens - their Tangie pre-rolls blow my mind! When I saw FastBud's auto-flowering version on Seedsman, I knew had to test it out against the original.

FastBuds picked up the Tangie mother clone in California and crossed it with a Canadian Ruderallis strain and selected for autoflowering offspring that maintained the orgininal Tangie qualities.

Overall, the Tangie Matic is a fun plant to grow and the final product is fairly true to the original. It has great structure, trained easily and was resistant to pests compared to other strains growing at the same time.

With most autoflowering plants, I don't top due to that built in timer that makes it go into flower automatically. Topping can be stressful and the loss growth time can't be made up on autmatic timers. This plant has a fairly long flowering time though, so I went ahead topped them after the 4th node. With a little low stress training, each produced multiple large flowers with dense resin coatings. We saw consistent flowering times of 70 days from germination to get a balanced effect at harvest.

The Tangie Matic is a beautful plant

The first thing that made the GoldLead Tangie so awesome is the unique flavor. I don't know how to explain it exactly, but it tastes like new car smell. Make sense? The second thing is the high, which I've found to be really uplifting and energetic. Now, the folks are Gold Leaf are genius growers, but this is the bar I'll judged the Tangie Matic I grow to.

How was it?

I was blown away. The breeders at FastBuds have successfully reproduced the original Tangie as a robust autoflowering plant. With high levels of both THC (23%) the bud produces a relaxing but uplifting effect true to its lineage. The flavor? Perfect new car smell.

Easy to Grow?

These plants were very easy to grow, in part due to the resistance to pests compared to other strains. Look closely at the photos and you will notice mite damage on some of the leaves - this was less damage than the other strains in the tents received. A few dressings of neem oil and it kept them under control.

We did notice that they were a little sensitive to nutrient burn (autos often are) but it never seemed to cause any major problems.

Speed to Flower?

The breeder claims 9 weeks flowering time after the seedling stage - though we went 10 weeks of flowering before we saw full maturity. Overall, the grow took around 12 weeks after germination and was uniform across the plants we grew. The flowers were large for autos and very dense with high resin production.

Medical Use?

Tangie Matic has high levels of THC but produces relaxing effects, making it a a good choice for treating pain, anxiety, stress and depression.

Potency?

Tangi Matic has high very levels of THC for an auto at 23% but produces a relaxing and mellow high. The effects are fairly balanced, without any racey thoughts or anxiety.

These are fun to grow - very robust.

Yield?

FastBuds says that correct treatment will see this strain produce 450 - 650 gr/m2 or 50 - 350 gr/plant in 9 weeks from the seedling stage. .Growing under 800 watt LED lights, we saw consistently respectable yields of 90-100 grams a plant. The buds were very large for autos and were dense with hugh levels of resin development.

Flavor?

New car smell - and its amazing!

Grow Setup

A good portion of the plants lives were spent outside - where they did quiet well. We finished them in a 4x4 tent with 4 LED lights: one 1200W light, one 800W light and 2 400W COB lights. The temp was between 60 and 70 degrees thoughout the grow. We grew in a soil/coco mix and used Emerald Harvest 3 part as the base nutrient for this grow. Once per week, we added CalMag and compost tea.
